Having spent the past seven years working in Belgrade, the renowned thoracic surgery expert Dr Milan Mijović has joined the team of experts at the Moj Lab Polyclinic and is now working in Podgorica. As the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Mijović will lead the medical team of the Moj Lab system and be the coordinator of the Moj Lab surgical hospital.
Dr Mijović’s vast experience and knowledge in the field of medical institutions management will make a significant contribution to the development of this modern institution. Moreover, it is of particular importance that the services of this renowned expert in the field of thoracic surgery will now be available to our patients.
Dr Mijović graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, completed his internship at the Medical Institute in Podgorica, and then worked at the Health Centre in Podgorica and at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro.
He specialised in thoracic surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade, completing his advanced training in the field of thoracic surgery in Paris. After that, he worked at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro as a thoracic surgery specialist, managing the operating rooms block and the Thoracic Surgery Centre. He was an advisor in the Ministry of Health of Montenegro and the President of the Board of Directors of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro in Podgorica.
In the period from 2011 to 2015, Dr Mijović was the General Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro. After that, he assumed the position of General Director of Medigroup Belgrade General Hospital (2016 to 2022) and at the same time he was the Chief Medical Officer of the entire Medigroup Serbia system (2016-2023).
During his seven-year stay in Belgrade (Medigroup Serbia), he worked as a thoracic surgeon in the Thoracic Surgery Centre of Excellence at the Medigroup General Hospital.
As part of his professional development, Dr Mijović completed trainings at globally prestigious institutions, with a focus on minimally invasive surgical interventions, such as: minimally invasive repair of pectus excavatum and carinatum – study stay in the USA; minimally invasive procedures in thoracic surgery – VATS continuous education – Hamburg, Paris, New York, Cincinnati; minimally invasive procedures in thyroid surgery – Rome, Pisa and Barcelona.
